About Us

Vivace Dancewear, an LA based company, is a mother and two daughter team. It started when we were ballet students. Our mother made us skirts for variations class and quickly, the teacher and other students wanted to have their own. Listening to feedback from all the dancers, she refined the pattern and material until we arrived at what we think is the perfect wrap skirt.

Our skirts are cut generously so they swish and flow with much more movement than commercial skirts, and we use cotton ties instead of ribbons so they stay secure for long hours in the studio. In addition, no sewing machine is used; all stitches are done by hand to ensure the fabric lays smoothly. This greatly increases the production time of a skirt, but we think the final project speaks for itself.

Our fabric is mostly purchased as deadstock fabric. This allows us to be more environmentally conscious in our fabric selection, and means that some patterns are only around for a limited time. We have found dancers love that their skirt will be unique and perfectly suited to their tastes.
